Chiropractic

Choosing The Right Care For You..

Relief or Crisis Care: Many patients begin Chiropractic care as a result of some sort of symptom. Once symptoms subside many people chose to continue their care as a preventative health approach. When a person has an acute problem, the primary objective is relief. After a thorough history and exam, a treatment plan is customised in order to allow a condition to heal properly. Visits at this time may be more frequent and each visit builds on the next as your body repairs.

Some typical conditions that Chiropractic may be effective in helping include:

  • Neck & Back Pain
  • Shoulder, Elbow & Wrist Problems
  • Knee, Hip & Foot Problems
  • Jaw/ TMJ Dysfunction
  • Sleep Disturbance
  • Digestive & Reproductive Complaints
  • Energy & Sleep Difficulties
  • Headaches
  • Disc Injuries
  • Postural Correction
  • Sports Injuries, Prevention & Performance Optimisation
  • Work or Traffic Related Injuries
  • Colic, Ear Infections, Behavioural Issues
  • Poor Immunity & Sinusitis

Corrective Care:  After your symptoms have subsided or improved, this type of care helps you achieve increased function and mobility.  At this stage there is a focus on strengthening the spinal joints and muscles.

Wellness Care: Many people choose to invest in their health when they have achieved a level of optimal health by continuing Chiropractic care on a wellness basis. These patients have regular spinal check-ups or 'tune-ups'. This type of care can benefit people of all ages.

Chiropractic Adjustment

A Chiropractic adjustment is the art of using a specific gentle force in a precise direction, applied to a joint that is "restricted" or not moving properly.  The adjustment restores movement to the joints allowing them to regain normal function. The ultimate purpose of this safe procedure is to improve spinal and nervous system function thereby improving your overall health.

There are many ways to adjust the spine. At WRCC we use our hands, and some other gentle adjusting tools called 'blocks' and the 'activator' instrument.  After 13 collective years of training and many years of clinical experience, Dr Orly Zuker & Dr Keira Swenson are highly skilled to help you and your family.

Remedial Massage

Remedial Massage incorporates a range of soft tissue specific techniques that may be used to treat tight muscles, aches and pains and to also assist people in addressing mental stress and anxiety. With today's lifestyle that causes people to sit prolonged and strain the body, regular massage treatments may offer great benefit to a person's wellbeing.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a massage-type treatment that is focused on the feet, which are seen to mirror different parts of the body. Reflexology may be effective in reducing stress and tension, improving circulation, reduced toxicity and improving immunity.

Bowen Technique

The Bowen Technique is a massage technique that uses cross fibre release to balance and stimulate energy and blood flow to the muscles. This can result in a deep relaxation, allowing the body to heal itself better, and may be effective in treating muscular-skeletal problems.

Hypnotherapy & Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP)

Hypnotherapy

Placing aside all myths and misconceptions, hypnosis is about creating an altered state of awareness. The General Hypnotherapy Registrar (GHR) states: “Psychological therapy and counseling assist people in finding meaningful alternatives to their present unsatisfactory ways of thinking, feeling or behaving.  Therapy may help clients become more accepting both of themselves and others and can help promote personal development and inner potential”.

NLP

The NLP discipline is an awareness tool that offers a fresh perspective of communication. Through neurological remodelling, NLP offers a path to personal excellence. NLP means: Neuro: The nervous system and how we learn, think and adapt, Linguistic: The language we speak both verbal and non-verbal and Programming: The way we do and register activities as habit in our behaviour and emotions. NLP is this and much more and when applied can establish accelerated learning and life success.

Pregnancy & Pilates

Pilates is important during pregnancy and post-birth. The main benefit is that the exercises target the exact muscles and functions that can be a problem during pregnancy and after birth. Pilates during pregnancy is perfectly safe and is tailored to each individual’s strength and ability.

Doing regular Pilates during pregnancy can help to:

  • Strengthen core and abdominal muscles: this equips the body to better cope with the strains caused by the weight of your growing baby. Hormones make the muscles and ligaments that connect your bones more pliable in pregnancy, making you more prone to injury.
  • Reduce back pain: weak muscles, especially the core and abdominal muscles, can lead to back or pelvic pain. These muscles support the lower back and help your body to carry the extra weight of a growing baby. The stronger they are, the more supported your lower back will be.
  • Strengthen your pelvic floor: this helps to support the bowel, bladder and uterus as your baby grows and moves down. This may help to prevent the incontinence that can occur with pregnancy.
  • Helps with baby’s position: towards the end of pregnancy, it is optimal for the baby to be head down. Positions such as on hands and knees on the floor, allows gravity to help with the positioning of the baby in the uterus.

Teaches correct breathing techniques: being able to relax and control your breathing is important for pregnancy and labour.
